Modern Treasure Valley Home

Nestled in the foothills of Boise, ID, this modern home features a view that overlooks the abundant sage brush and prairie grasses to the city below. Known as the Treasure Valley, the semi-arid climate of Boise means hot, dry summers and mild winters. The area is a regional hub for jazz, theater, and indie music, while extensive hiking and biking in the foothills draws adventure-seekers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Located on the route to Bogus Basin Ski Area, the striking home features a strong horizontal emphasis with staggered flat rooflines and numerous clerestory windows that flood the home with light. The heart of the home is centered on a large great room that feels voluminous situated between large expanses of glazing. The modern home design provides a clear delineation of private verses semi-private spaces through expansion and contraction of interior space. Both the interior and exterior of the home has been designed to suit relaxation and entertainment with features like a built-in outdoor barbeque and juice bar.

Entering the home through a floor-to-ceiling full light pivoting front door provides a sense of grandeur that continues through the home with immediate sightlines through the 16-foot wide sliding door at the opposite wall. The distinct black window frames provide a sleek modern aesthetic while providing European performance standards. The Glo A5h Series with double-pane glazing outperforms most North American triple pane windows due to high performance spacers, low iron glass, a larger continuous thermal break, and multiple air seals. By going double-pane the homeowners have been able to realize tremendous efficiency and cost effective durability while maintaining the clean architectural lines of the home design. The selection of our hidden sash option further cements the modern design by providing a seamless aesthetic on the exterior between fixed and operable windows.
