California Modern Renovation
Abut a terraced hillside in Ventura, California, this single-story ranch home is minutes away from the San Buenaventura beach. This modern renovation is ideal California living with multiple fruit trees, a private backyard ready for entertaining, and views of the Channel Islands from atop the backyard staircase. Not to mention the convenience of modern living just a short drive away, set against the beautiful coastline backdrop.
The typical front exterior of this 1970’s home will be transformed into the 21st century with an aluminum full-lite glass door flanked by wide set side-lites. The front foyer is met by an 8’ wide expanse of glass framing the rear courtyard, ready for backyard dining. The open kitchen, dining, and living area is encircled with nearly full-height floor to ceiling windows with views of the tangerine, lemon, orange, apple-pear, and avocado trees lining the property. Two sets of French doors with side-lites parallel each other across the living/dining room, providing ample ventilation, natural light, and ease of access to outdoor living. In addition, the more utilitarian rooms are affixed with European hopper windows taking full advantage of the seaside breeze.
This modern renovation selected Glo A5 thermally-broken aluminum windows and doors for their slim modern profile and energy efficiency. The dual pane glazing provided ample thermal performance for the temperate coastal climate. The cost-effective double pane series boasts multiple air seals, high-performance spacers, low iron glass, and a continuous thermal break. The stainless-steel handles, European concealed hardware, and black frames ensure a modern feel with long lasting durability to the newly renovated California home.
